P: Minobu, I’ve seen a lot of young kids in kimono’s recently.
M: It must be the shichi-go-san festival.
P: The what?
M: Shichi-go-san; it means seven-five-three.
P: What happens?
M: Girls aged 3 and 7, and boys aged 3 and 5 go to the temple or shrine around this time for a special ceremony.
P: They look beautiful.
M: Yes, parents and grandparents take lots of pictures!
